Before we dive into the elements we readily associate with the Kulture, I wanna bring attention to an element we don’t speak on enough. That would be the element of Community Service. Ever since August 11, 1973 at 1520 Sedgwick Ave. Bronx N.Y., HipHop was about the kids. Back when Kool Herc set up his tables at the rec center, he did so at the request of his sister Cindy. She came up with the plan & organized the event so that they can raised money for back to school gear for their younger siblings. At the same time, they knowingly created a safe haven for all the neighborhood kids. In the spirit of entrepreneurialism, peace, love & unity, HipHop was born. It’s about that time we make Community Service our chief element.
Many artists today never forget where they came from & find ways to give back. They develop their own programs, create opportunities & humbly do their deeds. I wanna do my part & hopefully I can do that through the ECHOSYSTEM. The ECHOSYSTEM is an acronym meaning Every Child Has Opportunity So You Should Teach Every Moment. It’s a program that with your help I hope to get off the ground.
It’s main objective is to become the central hub for every inner city community program. The ECHOSYSTEM would link all these programs, share goals & move in concert with each other. Together we’ll create the curriculum & structure that can be implemented into all participating programs. We’ll set up separate forums for all the educators, parents & students, with the goal of targeting all immediate needs. We’ll hold discussions to determine our future pursuits. The ECHOSYSTEM would then help enlist the services of all of HipHop to provide support & manpower to secure these achievements.
For those of you who can contribute to this vision, please reach out to me. It’s time to take it to the park, let’s form like Voltron on this.
